CTE conducts ‘Indak para kay Juana’ on Women’s Month

With rhythmic beats and energizing moves, the College of Teacher Education (CTE) at the University of Northern Philippines celebrated National Women’s Month through “Indak para kay Juana,” a weekly Zumba session aimed at promoting health and empowerment.

Held every Friday throughout the month of March, the Zumba sessions brought together students, faculty, and staff in an energetic display of unity and support for women’s rights. The dance activity was organized in partnership with the Physical Education and Arts – Dynamic Developers and Enthusiasts Club (PADDEC) under the Bachelor of Physical Education program.

The sessions took place on March 7, 14, 21, and 28, transforming the campus into a lively hub of movement and solidarity. The initiative aligned with the nationwide call to “make noise” for gender equality and empower women not only through words but also through action.

The campaign draws inspiration from Proclamation No. 227, s. 1988, which highlights women’s vital roles in Philippine society. As a concrete celebration of this proclamation, “Indak para kay Juana” reflected the college’s belief in nurturing both the physical and mental well-being of women.

By turning advocacy into activity, the College of Teacher Education ensured that the message of empowerment reached beyond classrooms and into the everyday lives of its community.
