DLH orchestrates SAYAWIT and COSPLAY: A tribute to Filipino artistry

With the echo of melodic harmonies and the graceful sways of traditional movements, the Department of Languages and Humanities (DLH) lit National Arts Month with the SAYAWIT performance by students. Held at the university’s auditorium on March 14, 2025, the program paraded the dynamic fusion of dance and music while embodying the theme of this year’s celebration, “Ani ng Sining: Diwa at Damdamin.”

The highlight of the program was the announcement of the winners. BSBA 1B claimed the championship title with its breathtaking performance, which stood out for its seamless synchronization and powerful narrative that celebrated culture and pride. Following closely in second place was BS Criminology 1B, whose energetic and passionate presentation left a lasting impression. BSHM 1C secured third place, captivating the audience with their graceful movements and creative execution.

Adding to the excitement was the COSPLAY competition held on March 11, 2025, where Angela Edmari Racca of BS Criminology 1A triumphed in the female category, while Jayvee Russel Campo of BSMLS 2C emerged victorious in the male category.

These activities not only celebrated the rich heritage and artistry of the Filipino culture but also aligned with the University of Northern Philippines’ (UNP) goals of fostering holistic development, promoting cultural awareness, and instilling pride in national identity among its students. Through events like SAYAWIT and COSPLAY, UNP continues to inspire its community to embrace creativity, innovation, and a deep connection to their roots.
