EVSU IT faculty and students visit UNP for an educational tour

The Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) of Tacloban City. Leyte, visited the University of Northern Philippines on May 22, 2025 for an educational Tour.

The 141 students and six faculty members of EVSU met the faculty of College of Communication and Information Technology led by Prof. Rosanne Agup, Dean; personnel of Information and Communication Technology Office led by Dr. Shareen Navarro, Director, and, University Information Office led by Dr. Irene Abigail Guerrero.

Participants of the tour listened to the University’s best practice, and research output presentations of two graduating students who represented their groups. Justin Baay, Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, presented their research output “A fitness application integrating AI technologies,” and Melchizedek Lou Reinier de Vera, Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, “Songs of Ashes: A roleplaying game based on traditional folklore of Vanaw tribe.”

Dr. Rolando Navarro, Vice President for Academic Affairs, delivered a message on behalf of the University President Dr. Erwin Cadorna who was on official business. In his message, he underscored the importance of educational tours and continued to talk on information technology, cybersecurity, and the University’s digital transformation.

The EVSU’s visit is their third consecutive year to University.
