Feeding program held
The College of Medicine and the CAS-Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, in partnership with the Rotary Club of Vigan, conducted a feeding program at the Gov. Evaristo Singson Memorial School, Mindoro Elementary School, and the Burgos West Elementary School on March 7, 2024.
This activity is part of the Nutrition and Feeding Program for nutritionally-challenged elementary school pupils aged 6-11 years old. Lasting for more than 150 days, the program aims at a holistic monitoring approach to the pupils’ physical health.
The feeding program does not only feed the empty stomach of children but also monitors their overall welfare. Further the activity is in response to SDG 3 which is on good health and well-being, as well as on SDG 2, zero hunger.
Partners in service supporting this noble rotary project are the following: Feed2Succeed Foundations, Inc., Metro Vigan Cooperative Hospital, Ilocos Sur Medical Society, Philippine Pediatric Society, Philippine Dental Society-Ilocos Sur Chapter, and McDonalds Vigan.
