During this morning’s flag ceremony on August 11, 2025, the University proudly announced a significant milestone. By virtue of Board Resolution No. 26, series of 2025, the Open University is now officially renamed as the College of Open and Distance Education — CODE! This announcement was made by the Dean, Dr. Dolores Bersamina.
This new name goes beyond a simple change in title. It embodies the University’s renewed dedication to providing flexible, accessible, and inclusive education that reaches learners wherever they may be. CODE represents the University’s commitment to breaking down barriers and expanding opportunities for quality education beyond traditional boundaries.
From Open University to CODE, the University continues to open more minds, touch more lives, and make learning truly limitless.
