November’s third week is for drug abuse prevention

Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 1192. Series of 1973, the third week of November of every year has been declared as Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Week. The University’s participation in this affair was kicked off with a zumba during the flag raising ceremony on November 1

This year’s celebration adopted the 2023 International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking theme, “People First: Stop Stigma and Discrimination, Strengthen Prevention.

It aims to promote awareness on the importance of treating people who use drugs with respect and empathy, providing voluntary services for all, prioritizing prevention, and leading with compassion.

In line with this advocacy, Hon. Jhunel F. Tanurio (Student Regent) was elected as the Vice President for Ilocos Sur and Vjay Remolacio (Student Council Presidential Management Staff Committee Head) was elected as Auditor of the Council of Philippine Anti-Illegal Drugs Strategy Region I.a
