PRC evaluates UNP’s BS EnP program for recertification
The Professional Regulatory Board of Environmental Planning (PRBEnP) assessed the BS Environmental Planning program of the University of Northern Philippines (UNP) for recertification of compliance on March 6, 2025, at Oandasal Hall. The evaluation aimed to ensure compliance with educational standards and the program’s role in producing competent environmental planning professionals.
Hon. Michael Ang, PRB Chairperson for Environmental Planning; Hon. Corazon Cruz; and Hon. Roque Magno participated online, while Dr. John Adrian Malagotnot, OIC-Chief of the Regulation Division, attended on-site. The review focused on curriculum, faculty qualifications, and institutional support for integrating environmental planning principles.
Faculty members, staff, students, and university officials were also present, including Mr. Albert Tejero, Vice President for Finance and Administration, representing UNP President Dr. Erwin Cadorna; Dr. Fatima Nicetas Rabang-Alonzo, Dean of the College of Architecture; and EnP. Ludivina Lozano, Program Head of the BS Environmental Planning program.
According to the PRBEnP’s findings, the college demonstrated excellent compliance, exceeded expectations, and presented a well-documented assessment.
This evaluation follows an initial review on September 13, 2023, when the program received a Certificate of Compliance with the requirements of Republic Act 10587. The continued assessment reaffirms the program’s commitment to quality education and continuous improvement.
