The T-Squares rock their way to victory as Battle of the Bands Champions

Representing the University of Northern Philippines, The T-Squares, a band from the College of Architecture, claimed the championship title in the Ilocos Sur Festival 2025 Battle of the Bands under the Schools Category. With their electrifying stage presence and exceptional musicality, they excelled in the competition, winning over both the judges and the crowd at Quirino Stadium.

The T-Squares delivered a dynamic setlist that included “Himala” by Rivermaya, “Buwan” by Juan Karlos, and the iconic “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen. Their technical precision, high-energy performance, and seamless execution showcased their versatility as musicians. The band consists of Vivienn Gayle Barbosa and Jomarie Booc on vocals, Prince Aldrich Reyes on lead guitar, Vinze Art Stephen Astrero on rhythm guitar, Reagan Carbonel on bass, Jim Patrick Quiday on keyboard, and Xavier Paul Osian on drums.

In addition to securing the grand prize, The T-Squares also earned individual accolades. Jomarie Booc was recognized as Best in Vocals, while Xavier Paul Osian took home the Best in Drums award. The band is under the mentorship of Ar. Giuseppe Fidel Noe Alonzo.

The competition also featured stellar performances from ISCC Band, Salty Tocino Band, The Sound Avenue, and STEMazing. In other categories, Kill Love Band triumphed in the Non-Pro Category, while Infinity Band emerged as the winners in the Pro Category.
