Universitas Potensi Utama and the University of Northern Philippines sign historic MOU
In a significant move towards strengthening international academic cooperation, Universitas Potensi Utama (UPU) in in Tanjung Mulia, Medan, Indonesia, and the University of Northern Philippines (UNP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on August 27, 2024, at Tadena Hall.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Rika Rosnelly, S.Kom., M.Kom, Rector of UPU, and Dr. Erwin F. Cadorna, President of UNP, representing their respective institutions. This historic agreement aims to promote collaborative research, community service, and publication efforts between the two universities.
The MoU outlines several key areas of collaboration, including, visits between universities by academic, technical, and administrative staff; exchange of students, lecturers, or staff in the form of cultural exchange sharing and education management; student articulation of courses at the two universities or visiting lecturer; sharing of academic materials; joint organization of conferences, seminars or other academic meetings; summer and internship programs; and any other activities to be decided based on mutual agreement by both faculties.
This agreement is a testament to UPU and UNP’s commitment to strengthening international partnerships and fostering a collaborative environment that benefits both institutions. Dr. Cadorna emphasized the importance of such partnerships in enhancing the educational landscape and providing students with broader opportunities for growth and development.
The signing of this MoU sets the stage for future initiatives that will not only enhance the academic experience for students but also contribute to the development of innovative solutions to pressing global issues. This agreement reflects a growing trend among universities worldwide to engage in partnerships that transcend geographical boundaries, promoting a more interconnected and collaborative educational environment.
