UNP and JCI Vigan forge partnership

The University of Northern Philippines (UNP) and Junior Chamber International Vigan (JCI Vigan) have taken a significant step forward in their commitment to community development by signing a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on March 17, 2025, at the Oandasan Hall. This partnership is designed to amplify initiatives focused on healthcare services, skills training, capability-building programs, information dissemination, and advocacy efforts across the region.

At the heart of this collaboration is a shared vision to empower communities through projects that address pressing needs and drive sustainable progress. UNP President Dr. Erwin Cadorna emphasized the university’s dedication to forging alliances that yield substantial societal benefits. “Our partnership with JCI Vigan reflects our commitment to empower communities through collaborative projects that address critical needs and promote sustainable progress,” he stated.

JCI Vigan President Janina Carine Medina-Fariñas highlighted the transformative power of collective action. “Together, we can leverage our resources and expertise to create meaningful opportunities and improve the quality of life for the people of Vigan and beyond,” she noted.

The MOA shapes a comprehensive framework for collaborative projects aimed at enhancing student welfare, supporting local communities, and promoting sustainable development goals. By combining UNP’s academic resources with JCI Vigan’s community engagement expertise, the partnership seeks to create lasting positive change. This collaboration equips individuals with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive, fostering a more empowered and resilient society.
