UNP BAC kicks off Capacity Building Program on Government Procurement
The University of Northern Philippines Bids and Awards Committee in collaboration with the Government Procurement Policy Board Technical Support Office (GPPB-TSO), and the Human Resource Management Office commenced its two-day Capacity Building Program on February 13, 2025, at the College of Technology Building Function Hall. The said training focuses on Republic Act 9184 or the Government Procurement Act and its 2016 revised Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR).
The program aims to promote competence in the law among Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) members, Technical Working Group (TWG) heads and members, BAC secretariat, procurement staff, finance personnel, and end users.
Dr. Erwin Cadorna, UNP President, encouraged attendees to leverage past experiences to enhance the university’s procurement process and emphasized that camaraderie could lead the university in reaching its goals
Dir. Ria Bansigan, Regional Director, Department of Budget and Management – Region I, served as resource speaker. She discussed Government Procurement 101 and Procurement Planning and Budget Linkage including Early Procurement Activities.
Moving forward, the University aims to cultivate a more enhanced process, and timely procurement to better serve the University’s stakeholders.
