UNP empowers LNHS with training on Business Communication

In collaboration with the University Extension Office and the Office of the Vice President for Research and Extension, the University of Northern Philippines successfully conducted a training program titled, “Training on Responsible and Professional Online Business Communication” on February 20, 2025, at Lidlidda National High School (LNHS), Lidlidda, Ilocos Sur.

The initiative was part of the B.U.S.I.N.E.S.S. IN THE Communities program, designed to enhance participants’ communication skills in digital business settings. The training focused on equipping individuals with the necessary competencies to communicate effectively, ethically, and professionally in online platforms. Key topics included clarity in messaging, cultural sensitivity, data privacy, and responsible engagement to foster trust and credibility in digital business interactions.

Spearheading the program were project coordinators Prof. May Evelia Ruadap and Dr. Eileen Rose Paculan, with the support of organizers Dr. Erwin Tolbe and Dr. Gilbert Valdez, Jr. The resource speakers, Dr. Shareen Navarro and Dr. Eileen Rose Paculan, delivered insightful discussions on essential topics. Dr. Navarro covered the fundamentals of online business communication, as well as writing and structuring professional emails and messages, while Dr. Paculan emphasized ethical and responsible digital communication and the ten rules of netiquette.

The training was efficiently facilitated and documented by Mr. Ralph Marren Buccat, who ensured smooth coordination throughout the program.

Participants expressed appreciation for the timely and relevant training, recognizing its significance in strengthening their online communication skills for business and professional interactions. The University of Northern Philippines remains committed to fostering community development by providing essential learning opportunities through impactful extension programs.
