Enhancing Technology Transfer through Intellectual Property and Technology Business Management in the University of Northern Philippines: This is the theme of the memorandum of agreement between UNP and the Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCAARRD) which was firmed up through the unveiling of the IP – TBM marker ceremony held on 23 August 2020.

The unveiling ceremony, held via zoom, was attended by officials of the University headed by Dr. Erwin F. Cadorna, UNP President, and Dr. Fatima F. Rocamora, OIC, Vice President For Research and Extension Office; officials of PCAARRD, Mr. Noel Catibog, Director, TTPD – PCAARRD, Dr. Teddy F. Tepora, Program Leader, Sustaining IP – TBM Phase II, and officials from DOST; and Dr. Dionisio S. Bucao, Project Leader, IP – TBM Region 1, MMSU. 

The said membership aims to strengthen the capabilities of the Intellectual Property and Technology Business Management office in UNP to enhance technology commercialization. Specifically, the project intends to capacitate technology transfer personnel, enhance technology promotion and commercialization activities of UNP, strengthen linkages and partnerships with various agencies and intensify activities of IP management and technology commercialization.
