UNP hosts seminar on ETEEAP and Innovative Teaching Strategies
The Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs in collaboration with the Instruction and Faculty Development Office, recently conducted an Orientation cum Seminar Program, with the theme, “A Glimpse of ETEEAP and its Relevant Innovative Teaching Strategies for Diverse Learners,” on September 11, 2024, at the UNP Tadena Hall.
This event aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP), focusing on its framework, processes, and significance in higher education.
Dr. Rolly Navarro, Vice President for Academic Affairs, welcomed the attendees and set the tone for the event. After VP Navarro’s remarks, Dr. Erwin Cadorna, UNP President, delivered an insightful message highlighting the importance of innovative teaching strategies.
The overview of ETEEAP policies, guidelines, and implementation was provided by the first resource speaker, Dr. Myrelle Faith Mina, Education Supervisor II, CHEDRO-I. Dr. Mina emphasized the program’s role in enhancing educational standards.
Next, Dr. Benilda Villenas, Executive Vice President and Vice President for Academic Research at Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation (MSEUF), discussed instructional and learning approaches tailored for ETEEAP.
Following the discussion of Dr. Villenas, Dr. Claudia Odette Ayala, Assistant to the VP for Academics and Research and Dean of MSEUF-CAS, elaborated on the program structure, detailing how it supports diverse learners.
The sharing of success stories was orchestrated by Engr. Cielito Maligalig, Dean of MSEUF-College of Engineering, these success stories illustrated the positive impact of ETEEAP on students.
Lastly, Dr. Rodrigo Belleza, Jr., Dean of MSEUF-College of Computing and Multimedia Studies, addressed the administrative processes and services associated with ETEEAP.
This seminar not only aimed to inform faculty about ETEEAP but also sought to equip them with innovative teaching strategies to better support diverse learners in achieving academic and professional equivalencies. The collaborative efforts of various educational leaders stressed the commitment to improving higher education through inclusive and effective teaching practices.
