On January 17, 2025, the University of Northern Philippines (UNP) and Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU) sealed a significant partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Initiated by the Master of Arts in Guidance Counseling (MAGC) Program, this collaboration is designed to foster cooperative relations in education, research, and various academic exchange programs, marking an essential step towards enhancing educational opportunities and mutual growth for both institutions.

The MoU outlined both general and specific responsibilities aimed at promoting collaboration and ensuring mutual benefits. The signing ceremony was attended UNP President Dr. Erwin Cadorna, Dr. Rolando Navarro, VP for Academic Affairs, Dr. Marifel Acena, MAGC program head, Dr. Eva Marie Avila, MAGC faculty, along with MAGC students and personnel. Their presence underscored UNP’s commitment to advance educational initiatives and collaborative efforts.

The partnership aims to promote academic exchanges, facilitate personnel exchange, support reciprocal visits, collaborate on research, implement joint programs, seek joint grants, organize events, and exchange educational materials.
