UNP Shark’s badminton team earned a well-deserved silver medal in the Men’s Doubles Championship Match at the 2025 NSCUAA games at Camiguin. Brian Corpuz and John Paul Abella faced a tough opponent in Region 5, but their resilience and skill on the court were evident throughout the match.
After taking the first set 21-16, the UNP duo found themselves in a fierce battle as R5 came back strong to win the second set 16-21. In the decisive third set, both teams fought hard, but R5 managed to edge out UNP with a 21-19 victory. Despite falling short of the gold, Corpuz and Abella’s performance was commendable, securing the silver medal and demonstrating their potential for future competitions.
Coach Florence Dela Cruz praised their teamwork and focus, highlighting their ability to compete at a high level. The silver medal is a significant achievement for UNP badminton team and the whole Region 1, and the duo’s performance is sure to inspire other athletes in the next SCUAA seasons.
