UNP shines at SLU’s 24th Regional Nursing Research Congress

Nursing and graduate students of the University of Northern Philippines (UNP) made a strong impression in the 24th Regional Nursing Research Congress, hosted by Saint Louis University (SLU) on May 3, 2025, at the SLU Multipurpose Hall, Mary Heights, Bakakeng Campus, Baguio City. With the theme “From Ideas to Impact: Disseminating Innovative Trends Across Borders,” the event brought together researchers from across Luzon to present forward-thinking studies in nursing and allied health.

In a celebration of research excellence and academic collaboration, UNP was awarded a Certificate of Recognition for its meaningful participation in the congress. The recognition marked a significant milestone for the university as it continues to champion research-driven education and regional partnerships in health sciences.

Among the standout participants was Christian Kyle Cordero, a Master of Arts in Nursing (MAN) student from UNP, who received the Best Podium Presenter award for his research on Cognitive Impairment Among Older Adults in Narvacan, Ilocos Sur,” mentored by Dr. Bernardo Oliber Arde Jr.

UNP undergraduate nursing students also took part in podium and poster presentation categories, covering impactful topics such as “Nurses as Firefighters, Anxiety and Mobility among Older Adults, and the Influence of Parental Involvement on Nursing Students.” They had shown commitment to academic excellence and leadership in community health research.
