UNP student-artist paints gold at PASUC-1

The University of Northern Philippines is celebrating a major artistic victory! Joshua Arce from the College of Fine Arts has earned the gold medal at the PASUC-1 Painting Contest on February 25, 2025, impressing judges and art enthusiasts alike with his stunning talent.

Under the skilful mentorship of Mr. Delmar Jacob Torrano, Arce’s winning artwork beautifully portrays the UNESCO World Heritage Site, St. Augustine Church, securing a top spot for UNP in the competition.

Arce’s captivating piece earned him the top prize, placing him ahead of worthy competitors Jessica Mae Vergara of DMMMSU, who secured the silver medal, and Louella Jean Bulosan of PSU, who took home the bronze.

This win is more than just a medal, it’s a testament to UNP’s commitment in fostering excellence across disciplines. Already known for their athletic prowess demonstrated at SCUAA 2025, UNP is now further uplifting its reputation as a hub for artistic talent. Arce’s triumph highlights the university’s dedication to nurturing well-rounded students who excel in both sports and the arts.
