BEEd program continues Project DUR-AS in a Vigan elem school
One of the educational goals of the Department of Education is to make every learner a reader. To address this goal, the Bachelor of Elementary Education program, in partnership with Salindeg-Pong-ol Barraca Elementary School, continued the Reading Literacy Program for 46 identified Grades 1 to 6 learners who fall under the non-reader and frustration reading levels.
A continuation of the Project DUR-AS (Dagiti Ubbing Raemenda ti Adal ken Siensia), the program ran on March 8, 15, and 22, 2024.
The objective of the program is to aid elementary pupils in improving their reading performance.
On March 8, 2024, the BEED teachers together with 30 BEED students catered the reading program to the non-readers. The session was intended as a review of the past lessons to assess if the pupils still remember what was taught to them.
On March 15, 2024, new lessons were given to 26 pupils. A short drill was done before the individual tutoring. An action song was given, followed by a short drill and individual tutoring. Progress was noted in the reading performance of the pupils. Dr Eden A. Bueno, Dr. Wendelyn R. Talbo, Dr. Fely R. de Guzman, and Dr. Glenda C. Rabanal led the group.
