Out of 43 teams from 30 schools nationwide, the University of Northern Philippines team placed second runner-up in the 2nd iSITE National IT Skills Competition (Mobile Legends Category) on April 12, 2024.

The UNP team, tagged as “Victor and Prends UNP Team 1,” was led by faculty member Mr. Noel Rafanan, together with Victor Cabanas, Leo Cabie, Homer Bahia, Ace Lesther Tangonan, Jerwin Renon, and Angelous Joy De Jesus.

The team competed against De La Salle University–Dasmariñas in the semifinals after making it through the first round, and they lost by a slim margin (2-1) in a Best of 3 match.

In an attempt to place on the podium, the squad defeated the Our Lady of Fatima University squad 2-1 to take third place. The University’s spirit of competition was also demonstrated by another Mobile Legends squad, which included Ivan Hernando, Czensei Pajara, Lian Kent Amos, Jade Pamati-an, Jonathan Garces, and Justin Saniatan.

In the Java Programming Competition, Troy Madriaga and Cleo Valdez showed remarkable effort, and in the IT Quiz Bee which was held concurrently, Jericko James Tano, Francis Benedict Padron, and Nestor Quilop III likewise excelled.
