UNP, Baluarte Zoo seal accord
The University of Northern Philippines through the College of Business Administration and Accountancy forged an agreement with Baluarte Zoo Foundation, Inc. in Salindeg, Vigan City, Ilocos Sur on April 22, 2024.
The memorandum of agreement provides that the University will conduct information drive and advocacy programs; conduct skills training, technology transfer and livelihood projects; conduct risk reduction and management, basic life support, basic first aid and rescue operations; conduct health, technological, educational, economic and business management training programs or seminars; conduct capability building for employees; assess and evaluate the continuity of the established projects and programs; and provide the materials for the activities.
On the other hand, the Baluarte Zoo Foundation Inc. will provide the training venue in the implementation of the different programs, projects and activities including the necessary equipment tools, and materials; provide materials needed in the conduct of projects and activities; be responsible in the promotion and use of the various knowledge, attitudes and skills learned from the programs; and be responsible in the continuity of the established projects and programs.
Present during the MOA signing were Baluarte Zoo personnel led by Mr. Ignacio Tadeo, Administrative Manager, who recognized the extension activities of the University and reflected in his message the effectiveness of UNP extension service as his barangay was a recipient of various extension projects and programs while he was still the Chairperson of Aysusan Norte, Vigan City.
For UNP, present were Dr. Fatima Rocamora, Vice President for Research and Extension; CBAA Faculty led by the dean, Dr. Erwin Tolbe, and University Extension Coordinators, Prof. May Evelia Ruadap and Ms. Claudette Rabago.
