OU programs undergo evaluation visit
Three programs of the Open University (OU) had undergone onsite distance education evaluation and monitoring visit on November 26, 2024 by the Technical Panel on Transnational and Distance Education (TP TNEDE) and the Commission on Higher Education.
The programs that went through the evaluation of external panel were Master in Public Administration, Master of Arts in Education, and Bachelor of Science in Criminology.
The evaluators were Dr. Belen Tangco and Dr. Ninia Calaca of the TP TNEDE, Dr. Myrelle Faith Mina of CHEDRO I, Ms. Mely Mar Perez and Ms. Gabrielle Nicole Tabifranca of CHED Programs and Standards.
Dr. Erwin Cadorna, UNP President, in his message during the opening program held at the UNP Guestel, assured his commitment in “delivering academic excellence across diverse programs – from Public Administration to Education, and Criminology.” He emphasized the responsibility to nurture future leaders and that the ultimate goal of the University is to enhance the educational experience of students.
Dr. Dolores Bersamina, OU Dean, stressed that the visit is a “tool to understand whether the programs are on track and achieving their objectives.” She underscored the importance of the visit of providing feedback on the effectiveness of the processes and areas for improvement.
Also present during the opening program of the evaluation and monitoring visit were Dr. Rolando Navarro, VP for Acadamic Affairs; Dr. Fatima Rocamora, VP for Research and Extension; Dr. Edelyn Cadorna, Director, University Research and Development Office; Dr. Luzviminda Relon, Director for Instruction and Faculty Development; Program Coordinators and other OU faculty.
