The faculty members of the College of Arts and Sciences participated in a transformative moral reengineering activity held at the Student Center Ground Floor in the afternoon of November 28, 2024.

This initiative aimed to reorient educators to their essential role as moral exemplars and catalysts for positive change in society. The event featured an inspiring talk by Rev. Fr. Bryan H. Garibay, assistant parish priest of the Conversion of St. Paul Parish in Vigan City.

Fr. Garibay’s discussion, titled “Words that Build or Break: A Reflection on Gossip and Integrity in the Workplace and Society,” emphasized the profound impact of words on relationships and organizational harmony.

Highlighting the destructive power of gossip, he urged the faculty to foster integrity and a supportive environment within the workplace.

“Gossip does not only fracture relationships but also undermines the trust essential for a thriving community,” Fr. Garibay stressed.

He provided actionable strategies for addressing this pervasive issue, encouraging educators to model behavior that cultivates respect and unity.

The activity served as a reminder for faculty members to uphold values that align with their role as educators and leaders, influencing not only their students but also the broader community.

The event concluded with a renewed commitment from participants to embody professionalism and moral integrity in their personal and professional lives.
