The University of Northern Philippines has officially accepted the hosting of the SCUAA-1 and PASUC-1 2026 during the turnover ceremony at the closing of SCUAA-1 2025 on February 28, 2025, at the MMSU Covered Court, Batac City.
UNP President Dr. Erwin F. Cadorna accepted the responsibility, promising a fair and excellent event. “To the best of our ability, we will try to have the fairest games of all next year,” he emphasized, assuring the entire Region 1 sports and cultural community of a well-organized and just competition in 2026.
Meanwhile, MMSU President Dr. Virgilio Julius P. Manzano Jr. reflected on the spirit of unity, declaring, “In one month’s time, we will win as one—Region 1 as one—because we will be going to the nationals.”
The SCUAA-1 2025 Overall Champion title was claimed by DMMMSU, whose athletes erupted in celebration, chanting their school’s initials –D-M-M-M-S-U— upon the announcement. UNP secured a strong 2nd runner up finish with a total of 65 gold, 59 silver, and 85 bronze medals, proving the Sharks’ competitive edge across various sports.
In his closing remarks, DMMMSU President Dr. Jaime I. Manuel Jr. highlighted the camaraderie that defines SCUAA-1, stating, “Every battle, every game was hard-fought, but at the end of the day, we all remain friends.”
With the official turnover to UNP, the university now gears up to welcome the best athletes and artists of Region 1 in 2026, ensuring a competitive, inclusive, and fair sporting and cultural event.
