The University of Northern Philippines, through its Department of Social Sciences and Philosophy (DSSP) of the College of Arts and Sciences, conducted a psychosocial support seminar-workshop titled “From Stress to Strength: The Sophist’s Journey to Love and Care for the Hope of Our Future”. Held at Tay-ac National High School on April 8, 2025, the event aimed to equip Grade 12 students with tools for emotional resilience and character development as they prepare for graduation.
The workshop featured two insightful sessions. Ms. Jenalyn Ragudo talk on “How to Become Resilient in the Real World”, emphasized that discomfort is a necessary step toward meaningful achievements. She encouraged students to build connections, enjoy life despite challenges, and strive beyond mere survival. Meanwhile, Ms. Grace Tungpalan lecture “Beyond Diploma is Building a Character”, underscored the role of integrity, respect, empathy, and perseverance in overcoming obstacles such as peer pressure and social media distractions.
Facilitated by DSSP faculty members, the initiative demonstrated UNP’s dedication to community service and transformative education. By fostering emotional resilience and strong character foundations, the program empowered students to face future challenges with confidence and purpose.
