The Bachelor of Arts in Communication through the Association of Communication Enthusiasts (ACE) launched its annual COMMference at the University of Northern Philippines (UNP) Auditorium on April 21, this was participated by the BA Communication students and other college participants centered on the theme “COMMnecting Worlds: Communication in the Era of Global Conversations.”
The event featured prominent speakers addressing critical topics in modern communication. Dr. Irene Abigail Guerrero, a seasoned advocate for social mobilization, opened the program with a keynote on leveraging communication as a tool for advocacy. Ms. Angelica Arquines followed with a prompt session on digital ethics, stressing the need for integrity and accountability in online interactions.
Practical skill-building took center stage in afternoon workshops. Mr. Kennedy Jetajobe guided students through editorial writing techniques, while Mr. Jhonny Allagadan Jr. highlighted broadcasting fundamentals. Both sessions emphasized real-world applications, equipping attendees with tools to tackle challenges in media and journalism.
The auditorium buzzed with energy as students from diverse disciplines engaged actively in discussions, reflecting the conference’s goal of fostering interdisciplinary collaboration.
