UNP is taking decisive steps toward realizing its mission and vision, while aligning with the government’s Ambisyon Natin 2040, through its Annual Planning and Budgeting Conference (APBC) for FY 2026, held on April 28 to 30, 2025, at the EM Royalle Hotel & Beach Resort in San Juan, La Union.
With the theme “Growing Towards Sustainability: Fostering Excellence, Innovation and Development,” the three-day event gathered university leaders, academic deans, administrative directors, and heads for a rigorous series of presentations, critiques, and strategic discussions. The conference opened with a strong sense of purpose, featuring a welcome address by Ar. Samuel Rey Robert D. Duldulao, Head of the Planning Office, and an inspirational message from VP for Finance and Administration VP Albert R. Tejero, on behalf of University President Erwin F. Cadorna, PhD, who is on official travel overseas.
Throughout the conference, participants presented their Priority Programs, Activities, and Projects (PAPS) for FY 2026, with sessions dedicated to both academic and administrative offices. The process was marked by critical evaluation from the Planning and Budget Committee (PBC), ensuring that each proposal aligns with the University’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and sustainable development.
UNP’s meticulous planning underscores its proactive role in supporting Ambisyon Natin 2040, the national vision for a matatag, maginhawa, at panatag na buhay (strongly-rooted, comfortable, and secure life) for all Filipinos by 2040. By promoting a culture of sustainability and innovation, the University is not only advancing its institutional goals but also contributing to the broader aspirations of the nation.
The conference concluded with reflections from both academic and administrative leaders, and a feedback survey to further enhance future planning initiatives. As the conference closed, participants have shown the sense of shared mission and renewed commitment to UNP’s vision. This is a testament to the University’s enduring role as a catalyst for positive change in Philippine higher education.
