Strengthening its commitment to community health, the College of Nursing conducted the “Saving Lives at Home: Basic Life Support and First Aid Training” on April 25 & 26, 2025 at the Club House, Camella Homes, Bantay, Ilocos Sur.
The training was held upon the request of Ms. Valeria Ramirez, Chairperson of the Socio-Cultural and Education Committee of the Homeowners Association of Camella Bantay. Her initiative served as the bridge connecting the residents with the College’s community outreach programs, aiming to address the urgent need for first aid education.
Implemented under the C-A-R-E Program and SALWAD SALUN-AT Project, the training provided participants with vital skills in basic life support, wound care, and emergency response techniques. Residents were trained to manage heart attacks, strokes, injuries, wound care, and other critical incidents, promoting quicker and more effective interventions during emergencies.
Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3, this health initiative highlighted the importance of community empowerment and proactive health education. Through this activity, the College of Nursing reaffirmed its commitment to building healthier, safer communities, inspiring individuals to become capable first responders within their own neighborhoods.
