GCS in action, helping Grade 12 students relax before the big test

The Laboratory Schools Grade 12 students preparing for college entrance exams received essential support through a recent webinar titled, “Ready, Set, Relax: Beating Test Anxiety with Confidence,” held via Zoom on April 25, 2025. The event, themed, “Chill Before the Drill: Conquering Test Anxiety the Smart Way,” organized by the Guidance and Counseling Services of the University of Northern Philippines to address the emotional and psychological challenges students face during this pivotal academic milestone.

Ms. Krystal Gale Senica, the guidance counselor in charge of the Laboratory Schools, served as the Learning Resource Provider. The learning session offered a safe and supportive environment to help them manage anxiety, boost self-confidence, and approach exams with a calm and empowered mindset. Through a blend of practical strategies—including guided relaxation techniques and mindset coaching—the session equipped students with tools to strengthen emotional resilience, not only for their upcoming tests but for future challenges as well.

The activity also aligned with the university’s goals of promoting mental wellness and advocating fair play among students. By focusing on both test-taking tips and broader life skills, the event underscored the institution’s commitment to developing ethical leaders and supporting students’ academic and personal growth.
