DLH holds Buklugan 2025, honors Nora Aunor’s legacy

The University of Northern Philippines’ Department of Languages and Humanities recently held Buklugan 2025, where students displayed artistic performances, while also paying tribute to the National Artist Nora Aunor.

By reinforcing the role of art in advocacy and education, the first-year BA Communication students used theater, music, and dance performances to call out change.

This initiative also featured a special tribute to the late Nora Aunor, thru film viewing of her iconic works-alongside an exhibit that highlights memorabilia from her life and career. The tribute highlighted her impact on Philippine cinema and her role in amplifying the struggles of ordinary Filipinos.

Hence, this activity aligned with UNP’s mission and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Quality Education (SDG 4) and Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions (SDG 16). Buklugan 2025, held on May 13, 2025, emphasized the university’s commitment to education, cultural preservation, and social awareness.

The affair served as a powerful reminder of the influence of young voices and the legacy of artists like Nora Aunor in shaping minds and inspiring movements for social change.
