The Center for Gender and Development (CGAD) and the Instruction and Faculty Development Office (IFDO) held a training on gender statistics entitled “Every Juan(a) Counts: Finding the Right Data Sources and Methods for Gender Statistics” on May 14, 2025. The training that aimed equip the participants with basic knowledge on gender and development and key concepts on gender statistics was attended by BS Math faculty of the College of Arts and Sciences Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences.
Speakers during the training were Dr. Archie Matinez, Coordinator at IFDO and CAS faculty; and Atty. Katrynn Louise Eder, Director, CGAD.
This initiative ultimately helps the University align with the SDGs through the integration of SDG 5 in the curricula, analyze gender gaps in student enrollment and graduation rates in various fields, introduce to researchers sources of data for gender-related research, and helps the academic institution in the formulation of gender-responsive policies – all of these as part of the efforts to foster a culture of inclusivity in the University.
