CGAD conducts Gender Sensitivity Training for Health Workers

The Center for Gender and Development (CGAD) conducted a three-day Gender Sensitivity Training for the health professionals of Northside Doctors Hospital on July 11, 23, and 31, 2025. The training aimed to enhance the participants’ understanding of gender issues and equip them to deliver more gender-sensitive and gender-responsive health care services.

The initiative was spearheaded by Dr. Glenda Rabino, Chair of the Family Welfare Committee, and Dr. Rosita Rialubin, Chief of Hospital. The training featured learning sessions led by Dr. Victoria Arce, National GAD Resource Pool (NGRP) member and GAD Pool member of the University of Northern Philippines, Atty. Katrynn Louise Eder, Officer-in-Charge of CGAD; and Atty. Christian Casildo, CGAD’s Training, Extension, and Advocacy Coordinator. To further enrich the training, interactive workshops were facilitated by Atty. Casildo and Dr. Mae Oliva Piano, allowing participants to apply their learnings in practical scenarios.

The said training was part of the hospital’s continuing commitment to integrating gender sensitivity into its policies and services, in alignment with national GAD mandates.
