In celebration of the University of Northern Philippines’ 60th Diamond Jubilee, the College of Fine Arts and Design (CFAD) inaugurated its much-anticipated art exhibit, “LADAWAN, Pinagpateg ken Pinagyaman ti Nadumduma nga Henerasyon,” on October 8, 2025, at the CFAD Building. The exhibit highlights the remarkable works of CFAD students, faculty, and alumni, showcasing a vibrant legacy of creativity across generations.
The opening program featured inspiring messages from CFAD Dean Dr. Ashley Martinez, Vigan City Vice Mayor Hon. Glendale Benzon, and CFAD Alumni President Dr. Rodel Dayoan. Adding depth to the exhibit’s theme, architect Frederick Hernandez provided an interpretation that emphasized the celebration of art and heritage. The exhibit was officially opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Dean Martinez and Vice Mayor Benzon.
Guests, faculty, and students then enjoyed a tour of the exhibit, admiring the diverse and thought-provoking pieces that reflect the rich cultural heritage and imaginative spirit of the CFAD community. The exhibit will run until October 31, 2025, inviting the public to experience this extraordinary showcase of talent and creativity that bridges generations through art.
“Art is a legacy that is passed art to art, mind to mind, and heart to heart,” Dean Martinez remarked, underscoring the enduring power of creative expression.
