The College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE) Extension Office, led by Unit Extension Coordinator Dr. Edwin Cerna, launched “Tindig Kabataan: Self-Defense and Gender Awareness Training for Culturally Diverse Senior High School Students” on December 12, 2025, at Puro National High School in Caoayan, Ilocos Sur.
This initiative stemmed directly from needs identified in the college’s assessment survey at its adopted school. It empowered Senior High School students with vital skills for personal safety amid rising concerns like gender-based violence, bullying, harassment, and cultural discrimination.
Hands-on self-defense techniques took center stage, demonstrated and supervised by Dr. George Phillippe Amano and Mr. Kevin Mel Pacpaco. Complementing these were insightful sessions on gender equality, respect for diversity, and cultural sensitivity, delivered by Ms. Jacqueline Castillo.
Through “Tindig Kabataan,” CCJE reaffirms its commitment to fostering safer, more inclusive communities for the youth.
