CBAA launches YES–Entrep Hub to support young innovators

Driven by its commitment to nurture creativity, innovation, and enterprise among students, the College of Business Administration and Accountancy (CBAA), through its Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship program, formally launched the Young Entrepreneurship Station (YES) Entrep Hub on January 19 at the East Wing of the CBAA Building along Santiago Cove Road. The new hub serves as a dynamic, purpose-built space designed to empower student innovators and aspiring young entrepreneurs to develop ideas, collaborate, and transform concepts into viable ventures.

The opening ceremony began with a Holy Mass, during which prayers were offered for wisdom, direction, and the continued success of the hub and its stakeholders. Rev. Fr. Jeff Magulod delivered the inaugural message, setting the vision and purpose of the undertaking, while Assistant Dean Dr. Gilbert P. Valdez Jr. served as keynote speaker. Dr. Valdez Jr. underscored the significance of entrepreneurship as a catalyst for innovation and creativity, highlighting its role in empowering students and strengthening a culture of enterprise within the university.

The official opening of the YES–Entrep Hub was highlighted by a ceremonial drum roll and ribbon-cutting led by Dr. Valdez Jr., signifying the formal launch of a dynamic space dedicated to student-driven entrepreneurial ventures. Following the ceremony, guests were welcomed to explore an array of innovative food products and creatively designed merchandise developed by young entrepreneurs, reflecting their ingenuity, technical skills, and promising business potential.

The establishment of the YES–Entrep Hub affirms the University’s strong commitment to empower the youth through entrepreneurship and innovation. By providing a platform that nurtures creativity, enterprise, and collaboration, the hub is envisioned to open wider opportunities for students, stimulate sustainable growth, and foster a vibrant culture of innovation within the academic community.

An entrepreneurship student welcomed the initiative, noting that it provides a meaningful platform for learners to showcase their ingenuity and creativity through the products they develop and offer to customers. The student emphasized that such opportunities not only enhance practical learning experiences but also encourage innovation, market awareness, and confidence among aspiring entrepreneurs.

The program was spearheaded by fourth-year entrepreneurship students, reflecting their initiative and commitment to the project.
