UNP Faculty Volunteers bolster Gawad Kalinga’s “Kalinga sa Kalusugan” Feeding Program

The University of Northern Philippines (UNP), through the Office of the Vice President for Research and Extension and the University Extension Office, proudly supported Gawad Kalinga’s “Kalinga sa Kalusugan” initiative. On January 23, 2026, UNP deployed dedicated faculty volunteers to the GK Feeding Program at GK San Vicente, Ilocos Sur. This heartfelt activity was made possible by sponsors GK USA and the Ateneo Cervini–Eliazo Batch ’87.

Volunteers included University Extension Coordinators Prof. May Evelia Ruadap and Prof. Randall Rabacal, Dr. Eileen Rose Paculan, CBAA Extension Coordinator, CBAA faculty members, Mr. Aristotle Piamonte, Ms. Ilah Diva Fayfon, and Mr. Jastin Soria, CAS faculty members Mr. Stephen Tabios, and Dr. Jill Ann Paranada, OIC Dean Dr. Grace Garcia, Dr. Charo Rojas, and Ms. Claudette Rabago, Coordinator from University Research and Development Office. This initiative combats stunting with nutrient-rich meals, exemplifies UNP’s “extension efforts” blending academia and action per SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), and reinforces our role in nation-building through health, compassion, and inclusive development.

This collaboration underscores UNP’s unwavering commitment to nation-building through community-driven efforts that foster health, compassion, and inclusive development.
