UNP speakers inspire students at JCI CoLove Festival’s Heart to Hearts Tour

Representatives from the University of Northern Philippines served as learning resource speakers during the JCI Vigan CoLove Festival 3: Heart to Hearts Tour on March 10, 2026, bringing meaningful discussions on personal growth and social awareness to students of Ilocos Sur National High School and Ilocos Sur Community College as part of the initiative’s effort to inspire and empower young learners.

The activity gathered students in a dynamic and meaningful learning environment that emphasized personal development, values formation, and the cultivation of healthy and positive relationships. Through engaging discussions and the exchange of insights, the speakers fostered an open and supportive atmosphere where students felt encouraged to reflect on significant life lessons and the realities and challenges faced by young people today.

The sessions also provided opportunities for participants to share perspectives, promoting deeper understanding, self-awareness, and a stronger sense of responsibility toward their personal and social growth.

Representing the UNP during the activity were Dr. Marifel Acena, Mr. Mico Molina, Ms. Glenny Angelica Barrientos, Ms. Kathlene Mae de Castro, and Ms. Pauline Yanssen Martinez, who served as facilitators and resource speakers throughout the sessions. Through their engaging discussions and interactive exchanges with the students, the speakers emphasized the importance of responsible decision-making, empathy toward others, and the cultivation of positive values in everyday life. Their insights encouraged participants to reflect on their choices, strengthen their character, and develop a deeper sense of responsibility in navigating the challenges faced by young people today.

The Heart to Hearts Tour is an initiative that aims to inspire and guide the youth through meaningful conversations that promote leadership, compassion, and social responsibility. Through its participation in programs such as this, UNP continues to strengthen its commitment to community engagement and youth development by extending its knowledge and service beyond the university.
