STYLE 2026 concludes on a high note; UNP bet takes PCSMT Ambassadress title

The Science and Technology Youth Leadership Encampment (STYLE) 2026 hosted by Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) from March 23 to 25 concluded on a high note as a representative from the University of Northern Philippines clinched the prestigious PCSMT Ambassadress title highlighting the institution’s strong presence on the national stage of youth leadership in science and technology.

Florelai Tiara Shae Garcia, a first-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing student was crowned PCSMT Ambassadress 2026. Her win not only recognized her poise and purpose-driven platform but also positioned her to play a key role in advancing the organization’s initiatives. Garcia is set to serve with the newly elected officers of the PCSMT Student Chapter for the 2026–2028 term, contributing to programs that promote leadership, service, and community engagement.

Complementing Garcia’s triumph, the University of Northern Philippines likewise delivered noteworthy performances in other event categories. Representing the university in the PCSMT Ambassador competition, Duncan Osoteo clinched the 3rd Runner-up title, underscoring UNP’s competitive edge. In addition, Alvin Lloyd Gampayon and Nestor Quilop III showcased their talents in the Photo and Essay Writing contests, respectively, reflecting the diverse capabilities and active engagement of UNP delegates throughout the competition.

Framed by the theme “Building Smarter Communities: Youth Leadership in Responsible AI and Emerging Technologies,” the three-day encampment highlighted the critical role of youth in bridging contemporary challenges and opportunities in the use of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies. The program featured a series of engaging activities, including seminars, team-building exercises, individual competitions, and the search for the PCSMT Ambassador and Ambassadress 2026. Participation from institutions nationwide enriched the event, fostering collaboration and a collective push toward responsible and innovative technological advancement.

‎‎Following the successful three-day encampment made possible through the collaboration of PCSMT, TAU, and UNP, organizers affirmed their commitment to sustain the initiative by further engaging the youth in meaningful programs that promote science, mathematics, and technology across the country.
