Bileg ken Timek ni Juana Year 2!

Empowered womanhood resonated through the UNP Auditorium on March 25, 2026, as students, faculty, and guests celebrated the second edition of the speech choir competition, “Bileg ken Timek ni Juana.” Aligned with this year’s National Women’s Month theme, “Lead Like the Babaylans, Filipinas!”, the event amplified artistic expression, advocacy, and reflection on women’s societal roles.

Organized by the Department of Social Sciences and Philosophy and the Center for Gender and Development, it welcomed groups from courses offering Gender and Society or Gender and Development. Eighteen teams delivered synchronized performances on gender equality and empowerment, channeling the Babaylans’ resilience through narratives, choreography, and unified voices.

Judges scored content relevance, voice quality, creativity, stage presence, and impact. BS Geodetic Engineering 2 (BSGE2) claimed Champion; BS Civil Engineering 2D (BSCE2D) took 1st Runner-Up; and BS Civil Engineering 2A (BSCE2A) earned 2nd Runner-Up. Winners received certificates and cash prizes.

Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Rolando B. Navarro praised the event for embedding gender-responsive pedagogy, fostering social justice, equality, and inclusivity.

More than a contest, “Bileg ken Timek ni Juana” empowers students to challenge norms and lead like Babaylans, inspiring transformative change.
