The University of Northern Philippines signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Philippine Political Science Association (PPSA) on April 15, 2026 to enhance collaboration in the field of political science.

The signing ceremony, held at the Office of the President, brought together UNP President Dr. Erwin F. Cadorna and PPSA President Dr. Reynold D. Agnes to formalize the agreement. The signing of the MOU signifies a common interest in advancing the partnership between the two institutions.

Witnesses to the signing were Dr. Rolando B. Navarro, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Atty. Christian Philip Chan, Legal Officer; Prof. Crizzle B. Paz, Bachelor of Arts in Political Science Program Head; and Prof. Ciela Marie Pacopia, Luzon Representative to the PPSA.

The Memorandum of Understanding establishes a comprehensive framework for collaboration, paving the way for joint research initiatives, academic exchanges for students and faculty, and expanded opportunities for professional development. It also ensures stronger support for the publication and dissemination of research, while creating platforms for conferences, forums, and scholarly dialogue. Set to run for five years, the agreement is expected to significantly enhance the educational and research landscape for UNP students, faculty, and the broader community of political science scholars.
