Marking a milestone of achievement and a pivotal moment of transition, the University of Northern Philippines College of Engineering honored its students during a dual celebration on April 24, 2026 at Marcos Hall—highlighting both their academic accomplishments and their readiness for the next stage of their journey.
In a meaningful display of transition and triumph, the College conducted its 4th Hardhatting and Pinning Ceremonies, formally ushering third-year students into the next phase of their academic journey as they prepare to undertake hands-on industry training through on-the-job experience.
In the afternoon, the spotlight shifted to excellence and achievement as the College mounted Pammadayaw 2026, a celebration that recognized outstanding engineering students who have distinguished themselves in academics, leadership, journalism, athletics, and various other fields.
University officials, faculty members, proud parents, and students gathered for both occasions, reflecting a shared commitment to academic excellence and professional growth. Dr. Nelia Verzosa, dean of the College of Engineering, expressed pride in the students, highlighting their dedication, perseverance, and preparedness for future challenges.
During the Hardhatting and Pinning Ceremony, students formally received hard hats, vests, and pins—symbols of safety, responsibility, and professionalism in the engineering field. Dr. Rolando Navarro, Vice President for Academic Affairs, emphasized discipline and continuous learning as key values moving forward. Engr. Ponciano Valdez Jr., guest speaker, also shared industry insights, encouraging students to embrace innovation and responsibility.
Meanwhile, Engr. Nestor Pajaro delivered messages in both events, urging students to uphold integrity, humility, and service in their careers.
With the support of the university administration led by President Dr. Erwin Cadorna, both events underscored UNP’s commitment to produce competent, values-driven engineers ready to contribute to nation-building.
