The University of Northern Philippines formally opened the 5th Student Research Poster Presentation on April 27, 2026, at the 1st Floor, Administration Building, Tadena Hall, featuring 40 student research entries in a week-long physical exhibit and online competition.
Anchored on the theme “Advancing Inclusive and Sustainable Research, Inspiring Future Leaders,” the activity is spearheaded by the University Research and Development Office, under the leadership of URDO Director Dr. Edelyn A. Cadorna, in cooperation with the different colleges of the University. The event provides student researchers with a platform to present their completed theses, feasibility studies, capstone projects, and action research in a clear, creative, and accessible poster format.
The opening program was attended by UNP President Dr. Erwin Cadorna, Vice President for Finance and Administration Mr. Albert Tejero, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Rolando Navarro, URDO Director Dr. Edelyn Cadorna, college deans, faculty members, and student researchers.
In his message, Dr. Erwin F. Cadorna emphasized the relevance of the event’s theme and highlighted the importance of research in developing critical thinking, innovation, and solutions that respond to the needs of communities. He encouraged the student researchers to continue pursuing meaningful studies that contribute to inclusive and sustainable development.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony formally marked the opening of the physical exhibit, signifying the start of the University’s week-long celebration of student research, innovation, and scholarly engagement.
The poster presentation is conducted through both on-site viewing and online engagement. Accepted entries are displayed at the Administration Building and are also uploaded on the UNP Facebook Page, allowing a wider audience to view and support the student research outputs.
The competition will run from April 27 to May 5, 2026, with winners announced on May 5, 2026, during the closing program of the Regional Research Congress at Tadena Hall.
Awards will be given to the Best Poster, four runners-up, and winners of special online engagement awards, including Most Shared, Most Reacted, and Most Liked entries.
Now in its fifth year, the Student Research Poster Presentation reflects UNP’s continuing commitment to strengthening student research culture, promoting inclusive and sustainable inquiry, and inspiring future leaders through meaningful academic engagement.
