Next generation of health workers recognized at UNP CHS 30th Clinical Graduation

The University of Northern Philippines College of Health Sciences held its 30th Clinical Graduation Ceremony on April 27, 2026 at the Vigan Convention Center

The ceremony honored students who successfully completed the rigorous clinical hours and academic requirements of the Bachelor of Science in Emergency Health Services (BSEHS) and Bachelor of Science in Midwifery (BSM) programs. Anchored on the theme “Forged in Innovation: Triumphs of the New Breed of Healthcare Professionals in a Changing Healthcare Landscape,” the event marked a defining milestone in the graduates’ journey—signaling their readiness for professional practice ahead of the university’s formal commencement exercises where their degrees will be officially conferred.

The recognition reflected the structured progression of both programs. In BSEHS, Level IV students are candidates for the Bachelor of Science in Emergency Health Services, while Level III qualify for the Emergency Medical Technician certificate, Level II for Emergency Medical Responder, and Level I for Health Aide certification. In the BSM program, Level IV students are candidates for the Bachelor of Science in Midwifery, Level II for the Diploma in Midwifery, and Level I for the Health Aide certificate.

Academic excellence was evident, with several graduates earning magna cum laude and cum laude Latin honors. Clinical awards emphasized outstanding performance in key areas, including community duty, obstetrics, pediatrics, labor and delivery, and emergency and hospital-based care. Midwifery graduates were also recognized for their achievements in the midwifery licensure examination, including regional and national placements.

In her valedictory address, Ms. Karylle B. Reballos called on her fellow graduates to uphold competence, compassion, and integrity as they enter the healthcare profession. She stressed that beyond technical training, service to patients and communities remains a fundamental responsibility.

Guest speaker Dr. Jonnel Solomon, a CHS alumnus, shared reflections from his professional journey and encouraged graduates to pursue continuous learning and maintain dedication to patient care. Dean Dr. Joussie Bermio, meanwhile, affirmed that the ceremony signifies the completion of rigorous academic and clinical preparation, positioning graduates for future professional practice.

The ceremony concluded with the formal recognition of graduates who are expected to receive their degrees and certifications during the university’s forthcoming commencement rites.
