The University of Northern Philippines (UNP) opens doors to opportunity as it staged “From Pathways to Possibilities: UNP Job Quest 2026” May 5, 2026 at the Old College of Technology Building—gathering job seekers, industry partners, and government agencies in a unified push toward employment and career growth.
Spearheaded by the Career and Job Placement unit under the Student Welfare Services of the Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS), the job fair is a collaborative undertaking with the UNP Federated Alumni Association (UNP FAA), the Public Employment Service Office of the Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur (PESO-PGIS), and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE). The initiative shows a shared commitment to bridge education with industry demands, creating tangible pathways for graduates and job seekers.
In his welcome remarks, OSAS Director Dr. Mariano Paterno Avila set the tone by recognizing the vital role of industry partners in shaping career opportunities for UNP graduates. Representing UNP FAA President Hon. Nestor Pajaro, Dr. Santiago Reolalas of the College of Teacher Education Alumni Association delivered a message emphasizing the alumni network’s continued support in empowering graduates to navigate the evolving job market.
A diverse lineup of companies participated in the fair, offering a wide range of employment prospects across sectors. Among the firms present were Eagle Vision Inc., JTC Group of Companies, Tulay sa Pag-unlad Inc., Alorica Teleservices Inc., RKT Marketing, and FY Rojas and Associates—each providing on-the-spot recruitment opportunities and career consultations to applicants.
Government partners likewise reinforced their support, with Ms. Mary Madelaine Salvador of PESO-PGIS and Mr. Kevin Keit Dela Rosa of DOLE in attendance, ensuring that job seekers are guided not only by employment prospects but also by labor standards and government-backed programs.
Behind the seamless conduct of the event are key facilitators, including Dr. Marites Duquinal of Student Government Organization Activities and Ms. Deborah Reoliquio of the Career and Job Placement unit, whose coordinated efforts ensured that both applicants and employers engaged in a productive and organized environment.
More than a job fair, “UNP Job Quest 2026” stands as a dynamic convergence of academe, industry, and government—transforming career aspirations into real opportunities and reaffirming UNP’s role as a catalyst for inclusive growth and employment in the region.
