The University of Northern Philippines, through the Information and Communications Technology Office (ICTO) and the University Registrar’s Office, trained college encoders on class scheduling and system setup using the Student Information and Accounting System (SIAS) on June 23, 2026 at the Old Registrar’s Office. The activity standardized scheduling procedures, reinforced data governance protocols and prepared frontline personnel for the opening of the next academic term.
The training was conducted through the joint efforts of the ICTO and the University Registrar’s Office under the leadership of Dr. Shareen Navarro and Mr. Robinson Tolio, with the support Dr. Rolando Navarro, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Mr. Albert Tejero, Vice President for Finance and Administration.
Sessions covered course setup, class scheduling, masterfile preparation, data-entry standards, system navigation and security protocols governing Level 4 (Highly Confidential) institutional data. Participants received hands-on instruction to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance across all colleges.
Organizers emphasized that errors in class setup and scheduling can disrupt enrollment workflows, create room and faculty conflicts, generate inaccurate student records and affect financial transactions within the system. Standardized encoding practices reduce these risks and improve coordination among academic and administrative offices.
The training also responded to the designation of new SIAS encoders, equipping personnel with the technical competencies required to manage institutional data and maintain system integrity. As custodians of critical university records, encoders play a central role in safeguarding data accuracy and reliability.
Accurate scheduling and course setup drive efficient enrollment operations, timely academic planning and streamlined financial processing. By investing in system readiness and personnel capability, UNP continues to advance digital governance and strengthen the operational foundations of student services.
