University holds Annual Planning and Budgeting confab

In a strategic move to strengthen its efforts in instruction, research, and extension, the University Administrative Council held its annual planning and budgeting conference from August 14 to 16 at JLP Resort in Paoay, Ilocos Norte.

The conference, attended by top University administrators, deans, and directors, aimed to submit for approval the programs, activities, and projects for the upcoming fiscal year 2025.

The significance of this conference lies in its ability to align the University’s goals and objectives with the government’s socio-economic agenda, the Philippine Development Plan (PDP), and the Budget Priorities Framework (BPF) for 2025. By engaging in a comprehensive planning process, the University ensures that its resources are allocated efficiently and effectively to achieve its mission and vision.

During the three-day conference, participants engaged in discussions and deliberations on the internal budget allocations for the upcoming fiscal year. This process involved reviewing the availability of funds, recommending budget revisions, and prioritizing capital requests and special project proposals for funding.

“The annual planning and budgeting conference is a critical event in our University’s calendar, we must not rest in our laurels even if we have already achieved success – instead, we must aim to do more for our beloved UNP,” University President, Dr. Erwin F. Cadorna, said.

“Take this opportunity to collectively assess our progress, identify areas for improvement, and chart a course for the future. By aligning our efforts with national priorities and allocating resources strategically, we can continue to deliver excellence in instruction, research, and extension,” he added.

The conference also provided an opportunity for the University to showcase its ongoing projects and proposed infrastructure developments. As the University looks ahead to 2025, the annual planning and budgeting conference serves as a testament to its commitment to continuous improvement, and its dedication to serving the needs of its students, faculty, and community. By investing in strategic planning and budgeting, the University positions itself for success and ensures that its impact extends far beyond the confines of the campus.
