BAC promotes environmental stewardship
The Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) of the University of Northern Philippines (UNP) recently organized a tree planting and coastal clean-up drive at Sitio Mindoro, San Sebastian, San Vicente, Ilocos Sur. This event was part of the broader community outreach initiative celebrating UNP’s 59th founding anniversary, successfully bringing together BAC personnel and local community members in a shared mission to promote environmental stewardship.
The tree planting and coastal clean-up activities are crucial for addressing pressing environmental challenges. Participants actively engaged in cleaning the coastline, removing debris and pollutants that threaten marine ecosystems. Additionally, the tree planting initiative aimed to enhance local biodiversity and combat climate change by increasing green cover in the area.
This outreach effort raised awareness about the importance of protecting marine life and encouraged sustainable practices among participants, the event also highlighted UNP’s commitment to fostering community involvement and environmental responsibility.
Through such initiatives, UNP not only contributes to ecological sustainability but also strengthens community ties, inspiring collective action towards a healthier environment for future generations. The success of this event underscores the importance of collaboration in addressing environmental issues.
