The WIN Project: Rising Stars, Guiding Hands of the University of Northern Philippines Bachelor of Physical Education (BPEd) and Master of Arts in Teaching Physical Education (MAT-PE) concluded its two-day volleyball mentorship program on March 20–21, at Namalpalan Elementary School.
Organized under the Securing FUTURE: Health, Wellness, and Sports Development initiative, the event aimed to enhance volleyball skills and leadership among young athletes. Trainers, including Dr. Matilde Concordia, Prof. Schubert Soliven, and Dr. Eric Reotutar, worked alongside local educators and coaches to deliver the sessions.
The training focused on sportsmanship, discipline, and teamwork. The first day featured skill assessments and fundamental training in serving, passing, setting, blocking, and spiking, while aspiring coaches participated in officiating workshops and training program preparation.
Further, the second day emphasized advanced skill development, leadership training, and game simulation. Participants engaged in position-specific drills and a structured mini-tournament, allowing them to apply their newly acquired skills in a competitive but supportive environment.
The success of the WIN Project highlights its potential for future mentorship programs and expanded training opportunities, reinforcing the role of sports in youth development and community engagement.
