BS Biology students share research

The BS Biology program held its Students’ Scientific Research Congress at the UNP Auditorium on May 22, 2024.

The affair was envisioned as a platform for graduating BS Biology students to present their research findings and discuss the significance of their works with peers, faculty members, and evaluators. Also, it provided an opportunity for them to refine their presentation skills and receive constructive feedback.

It was themed “From Inquiry to Insight: Unveiling the Frontiers of Biological Research.”

The evaluators were Dr.  Rayeth Zheene Leigh C. Robeniol (City Veterinarian), Prof. Reginald Tajon (person-in-charge, Agribusiness), and Prof. Christa Jesusa S. Naval (faculty, DMNS).

The work of Gezzar Tenoc, Abbygale Busto, Charisse Vera, Christine Cabacungan and Girly Patron of BS Biology 4C was declared Best Thesis. It was titled “Effects of Carbon-concentrated Dehydrogenated Sugars on the Percentage Yield, the Fermentation of Microbial Cellulose, and the Durability of the Developed Kombucha Tea Leathers.”

Meanwhile, Clarence Renon, Odezza Bolor, Ronnielyn Castro, Ronaia Belle Rivera, and Hendric James  Ayon were declared second place with their work “Growth and Yield Performance of Pechay (Brassica napus L.) Var. Black Behi Using the CHRRO Hydroponic System.”
