CArch continues Conservation Advocacy in National Lecture Series

Dr. Fatima Nicetas R. Alonzo of the University of Northern Philippines (UNP) continued her conservation advocacy as she took part in a national lecture series organized by the United Architects of the Philippines (UAP), with one of its recent stops held on December 7 at the National Museum of the Philippines–Bicol in Daraga, Albay.

The lecture series, titled “Tayog na Pamana: Pagtitipon sa Bernakular na Arkitektura at Kulturang Bayan,” brings discussions on vernacular architecture, cultural heritage, and conservation practice to architects in various regions of the country. Alonzo was among the invited speakers who shared perspectives grounded in architectural research, documentation, and community-based conservation. Her participation reflects a continuing effort to extend conservation discourse beyond a single venue through a nationwide professional lecture platform.

Organized by UAP in collaboration with the Center for Filipino Architecture, the national lecture series is accredited for continuing professional development (CPD) and aims to strengthen professional awareness and practice in heritage conservation across the Philippines.
